The cost of valuations depends on how much work, time and research is involved.
Verbal valuations are charged at £30 plus VAT.
For written valuations we charge £60 plus VAT. (written documents are often required by insurance companies) .
For complex and/or very high value instruments / bows we usually seek the expertise of external experts. On these occasions we will inform the customer of the charge for this service before going ahead. Usually, this is from 1% + VAT of the value of the instrument.
We understand that it’s important for any repair or replacement of a lost or damaged instrument to be quickly resolved. The advantages of a specialist insurance policy for musical instruments are numerous: professional use is fully covered, accidental damage is fully covered, there is no excess to pay in the event of a claim and a specialist claims service is provided by a dedicated team.
