French Violin labelled Louis Joly, Mirecourt, c.1890

£4,500

This violin, labelled under the trade name Louis Joly, was made in one of the many Mirecourt workshops of the late 1800s and early 1900s.

This violin is in very good condition exhibiting a rich red-orange varnish over a fine two-piece back of flamed maple. The tone is even, full and resonant with impressive projection.
